get the tickle

something to be excited about-
http://www.pictureboxinc.com/

more n more this is going to be the trend.
i still love me a brick n mortar place to go for art and shirts.

---

Last night we had our faces melted off by A Place to Bury Strangers.

[not my photo]
I also had a bit too many between Duff's and the Music Hall so we swapped Holy Fuck for pizza. but it was still a great time.

I may or may not have seen a certain interactive mogul i interviewed in Cannes not so long ago. He may or may not have seen me. He may or many not have sucked some face with a hot punky goth girl. I'll have to talk to him about music this year at Cannes. and give him a couple high fives.

I also saw my coworker/editor we'll be bringing to france this year, so i send him round a shot at the bar. Kind of hilarious and very awesome to see someone from work- out- yay bburg.

a taste of things to come

everything changes with the coming of The Continentals.

Friday, March 21, 2008

tonight i watched the moon rise
and the people go by
beneath my fire escape.

An escape, but i couldn't find
a single place in my mind
that i could feel so safe.

and it was necessary.
to figure it out.
all of it that's there.
but it all said to wait a little more.

it said to wait for it.
trusting, out into nothing
that i will hold it in my hands.
there is something concrete to reach out for.

i want to hump the shit out of Portishead!

bye, Arthur

One of my favorite authors of all time died, yesterday.

http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5jfE8qUikNEG6MVWqYku2k8BD_RcgD8VG4VI00

He was the most amazing science fiction and fantasy writer, and did some great work in actual aeronautics.
He also liked ping pong:

if you ever get the chance, read childhood's end- it might feel silly at first, but the payoff is worth it.

where's your glowsticks, raver

i forgot how much a love me some good techno and industrial.
i got friended by Die Warzau on myspace today and immediately thought- i hope they have "All Good Girls" on their page so i can add it to my page. OMG ROFLMAO TTYL!!! the song was there.
haha you want to eat them!
it reminded me when we'd get aced at parties and go shake our butts off at the Moby shows.
Why did i go to more parties when i was sixteen and living in CT?
This is a question that really deems answering.

oh and by the way- Justice did a DJ set up in Boston- kinda lame- but still, probably one of the better DJ sets I've heard. There were some equipment problems and some skipping toward the end but we left to see the old roommates. i'll throw some pictures up of that. those dudes are always reliable- funny and chahhhmers.

i'm an expert in your geography. i can map your hemispheres in my mind.

There are certain vacation destinations you can't find on a map.

I am totally and officially going to see Justice tomorrow night.

Imma take some pictures for you.

I am so bouncing in my seat right now!!!!!!!!

the perfect gift for an art-savvy mom

Just released: Green and Blue

Michael De Feo has been painting flowers on the streets and sidewalks of new york city for the past fifteen years. He's also been really clean in his art- publishing a number of children's books, working with billboard projects- but also, he's been a strong part and fighter for the graffiti collectives in nyc.

He's also done some other really cool shyat. like paint hammerhead sharks on a house. check out his site.

In honor of the 15 year anniversary of his flower project, he's released a rainbow-colored series of limited edition flower prints available here: http://www.mdefeo.com/

It's a nice way to say to someone- hey- this guy is a important part of new york, and since you can't be here all the time, i wanted you to have a piece.

and tell me you don't know a little girl who'd wear this shirt til it was falling apart..

awh.
everytime i look at it, it gets cuter.

just bizarre- when malt liquor was first introduced on the market

2005 Domaine Saint Damien Gigondas "La Louisiane"

Ruby-red. Bright, highly aromatic red berry and cherry scents are complicated by a sexy floral character. Pliant raspberry and cherry preserve flavors are gently supported by silky tannins and finish with impressive cut and lift.

next week is Tapas week.

it happens sometimes

bohomania

today mikey, my co worker and friend, and i went to the bohemian beer garden in Astoria to scope it out for our company summer party. he was great company and the place is an amazing steal. i can throw my party for peanuts and roll what's leftover in my budget for the holiday party, which is traditionally in manhattan and always more expensive.

this year- DOUBLE THE BURLESQUE DANCERS! maybe i'm kidding.

best part of the deal? probably that the Garden is throwing in a band, free of charge, because they already do music on thursday nights-- the band i chose is an 18-piece accordian all-girls orchestra (mainly girls from Columbia and stuff) who play everything from german waltzes to pop songs. i will revel in their cheesy goodness!

yum

reminded of you

this reminds me of candace, and good times when we were all together.

a friend played a pumpkins song at a bar yesterday. it seemed such a strange place to hear the song, given that we used to jam out in the car or our parent's houses. it still inspired me to go home tho, and listen to almost everything i've got.

that music has my heart.
